Last year, UMBC was the talk of the tournament after becoming the first 16 seed to defeat a 1 seed in NCAA Tournament history with a 74-54 victory over Virginia. Now just a year later, coach Odom watched from home as Tony Bennett's Virginia Cavaliers cut down the nets in Minneapolis.
Coach Odom was gracious with his assessment of the 2019 Virginia team calling them, "the best team in the tournament" and also added that they "obviously deserved it". He also gave us some insight into his unique relationships with Virginia head coach Tony Bennett and their junior guard Kyle Guy.
